Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules won the weekend’s box office derby with over $23M in ticket sales this past weekend. Congratulations to Ronna Kress, Coreen Mayrs, and Heike Brandstatter, the casting directors on this film. Cast in Los Angeles, Vancouver and New York, Cast It was used to manage the casting process for over 100 roles and actor categories that included actor info, bios, reels and auditions. The filmmakers could then log in to the project to review the roles and categories and to watch the reel and audition videos for each actor.

Paul opens this weekend. Congratulations to Allison Jones and Jo Edna Boldin, the casting directors on this film. Cast out of Los Angeles and New Mexico over the course of seven months, Cast It was used as the primary online casting hub for maintaining and sharing role lists, actor information, reels and of course audition video clips. The filmmakers and studio execs were able to log in on their computer, iPad, iPhone and Android device, and with view-only access, watch, review and comment on the information and videos presented to them.

Red Riding Hood opens this weekend. Congratulations to Ronna Kress and Michelle Allen, the casting directors on the film. Cast principally out of Los Angeles and Vancouver, the casting team used Cast It to host and maintain casting sessions and to share the related actor info, demo reels and audition videos with the filmmakers and studio execs. In fact, Red Riding Hood had been maintained as an active, ongoing project on Cast It from 2005, until when casting was officially completed in 2010. During that entire time, the casting team and filmmakers were able to access the project to discuss lists, ideas and to view demo reels of actors under consideration.
